Objectives of the Agreement:

  • Access to “Premium” Markets: The EFTA bloc consists of highly developed economies with high per capita income, stringent standards, and stable purchasing power. The agreement aims to help Vietnamese goods—particularly high-value-added products such as processed food, seafood, green-standard textiles, and pharmaceuticals—enter this high-standard market.
  • Energy and Technology Cooperation: The agreement is expected to strengthen cooperation in clean energy and green technology, enabling Vietnam to access advanced technologies and financial resources from developed countries to accelerate its green transition.
  • Strengthening Partnerships: The signing of the FTA seeks to consolidate and expand bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations, creating a solid legal framework for long-term cooperation.
